On behalf of EDF, we carried out the measurements, design, static calculations and installation of permanent shielding for components with a high dose rate at the Fessenheim site.
The aim of the project was to sustainably reduce radiation exposure for personnel in certain areas of the plant. Based on a precise on-site survey, we developed customised shielding that was permanently integrated into the existing plant technology. The constructions were specially designed for permanent operation under nuclear conditions – with a focus on radiation protection, long-term durability and safe accessibility to the surrounding components.
The implementation was carried out in close coordination with the customer and in compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards.
